“A Better Balimore” is a film that looks into the humanism of Baltimore City Police Officers, the community’s responsibility, and the corrupt system they both have to overcome. This film looks to change the perspective, bring forth accountability and empowerment starting with this city in need. We can positively impact the perspective of a city seen as chaotic even by our nation’s President.
The Goals Of The Film

Meet The Cast
Writer, Executive Producer and Associate Director.
West Baltimore City Native born and raised with a dream to change the world starting in her own town. Published Author, Actor, Singer and Philanthropist. Worked as a 911 operator for Baltimore City Police Department. Her Background includes but not limited to Behavioral Specialist, and Social Work with MD Juvenile Justice System. She is determined that others see Baltimore as she does, Beautiful. “My Mission is to awake awareness and give assurance to the innate power we already possess to become a better self” – Renee Ambush.
Director, Producer and Associate writer
Trevor Hasnford is a seasoned director/dp. Multi cam studio/field. Content creator. Owner operator camera packages. He has 20 plus years in the business.
Grant W. Nicholas
East Coast Westside of Baltimore, Md is where Grant G Nick Nicholas began his musical career, nearly 30 years ago at the mere age of about 9 or 10. However, Los Angeles is currently home 3,000 miles away from his native roots on Cherry Lane. Grant established his unique sound and style as a first-class studio musician in various sessions in and around the Los Angeles area. As a Musical Director/keyboardist he began with the hit trio Brownstone.
Reuel P. Belt
Reuel playing supporting role as Derrick Mitchell. He has worked on Netflix’s House of Cards with award-winning actor Mahershala Ali (Greenbook, Moonlight) while in his hometown of Baltimore City. Since moving to Los Angeles Reuel has worked with acclaimed director/writer/producer Mark Brown (Barbershop) on an untitled feature film project. Reuel has also starred in several national commercials and performed Suzan Lori Parks’ Pulitzer winning play TopDog UnderDog, directed by Sharif Atkins (God Friended Me, ER, White Collar).
Jael Makayla is a 15year old teen entertainer who started her professional acting career at age 7. Not only is she a talented actress singer and director but she is also an activist, song and playwright and 2017 Little Miss African American First Runner Up.
Jael presented a powerful original spoken word Black Powers piece before California Mayor Eric Garcetti. She previously served as a Baltimore Youth Ambassador and as Baltimore Youth Mayors Advisor. Jael has been featured in 2015 issue of Baltimore Best Magazine and recently as the feature story for WMAR Baltimore Channel 2 news. Though she may be seen in music videos, as well as directed the Paralyzed music video. Jael continues to further her gifts, skills, knowledge and talents. Looking to the stars is great; Surpassing them is Greater. She is optimistic about her limitless future and journey!
Ashley Jeffrey supporting lead as Attorney Michelle Mitchelle was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and is a graduate from The University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in Theatre and Drama, Acting-Specialist. She moved to NY two weeks after college to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. Since then, Ashley has starred in over 40 plays, and has TV and film credits including “Orange Is the New Black,” “Sesame Street” and “Law & Order” to name a few. She’s written, directed, produced and starred in her own Off-Broadway play titled “Brutally Honest.” Since living in Los Angeles, this is Ashley’s second time at The Chinese Theater. She is currently working on writing her second play and her first book of monologues for actors. Ashley hopes to continue to pursue her passion for the arts in creating more literature in the future.
Lead Role Frank Hicks is an iconic R&B Historian, distinctive radio host, motivational speaker, and philanthropist Tyrone DuBose hails from Cincinnati, Ohio. Growing up wanting a career in began his lifelong pursuit in 1985, he became the host for a television program in the South Bay area of Southern California. Having a distinctive bass-baritone voice, DuBose quickly became a highly sought after announcer for many events, phone auto-attendant for Fortune 500 companies and voiceovers for many national commercials. Like many great public personalities, mastering one art was not enough. Tyrone ventured into radio where he was heard live on air at KHWY-FM in Barstow California for over 7 years. This is where he began developing his on-air skills and working on his craft that would later open the doors for him to other radio stations across the nation and eventually television. Because of his incredible knowledge of R&B history and the national R&B singles charts, DuBose created and host the radio program “Timeless Traxx”, a syndicated radio program that reaches over 40 stations and has went aboard to the International market in five countries.
